Bearcats run winning streak to 8

The persistent rains at Ellsworth Field finally cleared just before kickoff of Wednesday night’s Section 2-1A girls’ soccer showdown between Bentworth and Waynesburg. Despite the soggy surface, the Bearcats wasted no time seizing control, scoring twice in the opening 11 minutes and then relying on their defensive shape the rest of the way in a 2-1 victory that kept them atop the section standings.
