EF to welcome new members into hall of fame
An induction banquet will be held Saturday morning at the Georgetown Center in Pleasant Hills.

Elizabeth Forward High School will hold its 28th annual Hall of Fame events this weekend.
Nine honorees (six Hall of Fame, two Educator Recognition and one Outstanding Young Alumni) have been selected for recognition during the Elizabeth Forward High School Hall of Fame weekend. This twoday affair is sponsored by the Elizabeth Forward Alumni & Friends Association.
The Hall of Fame Induction Banquet is Saturday at the Georgetown Centre in Pleasant Hills.

The EFHS Hall of Fame was established in 1997 to honor alumni who have made outstanding contributions in business, community service, education, government service, science or sports. The hall has 149 members who graduated from either Elizabeth or Elizabeth Forward High Schools.
Being inducted into the hall this year, from oldest to youngest, are:
Orrie Rockwell Sr.
The late Orrie Rockwell Sr. was a member of the Class of 1929. In 1923, at the age of 11, Rockwell moved with his parents, Jasper and Etheyn, and his older brother, Robert, from North Charleroi to Elizabeth. He would spend the remaining 67 years of his life in dedicated service to the community he loved.
He was a business leader in Elizabeth for years through his association with the Rockwell Ford dealership, Laura’s Floral Shop and Rockwell’s Red Lion restaurant. He helped orchestrate the Elizabeth Forward jointure in the early 1950s while on the Elizabeth School Board.
He served the Elizabeth Forward schools for 50 years as a teacher, administrator and coach.
He died on April 26, 1990, but his love for Elizabeth was evident in his life’s work, and his legacy continues to reflect his deep commitment to the community he served so faithfully.
James Hampton
James Hampton, a member of the Class of 1977, retired in 2017 as deputy chief of the Uniformed Division of the U.S. Secret Service. During his 32-years of service, he held many positions and was awarded a Presidential Meritorious Service Award for his actions on 9/11. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He was an active volunteer for 30 years in the HEROES organization, which raises money to support law enforcement officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.
The son of the late James and Dolores Hampton, he grew up in Greenock section of Elizabeth Township, with his parents and two siblings, Michelle, EF Class of ‘76 and Scott, EF Class of ‘81. In high school, he lettered in wrestling and won a sectional championship in 1977.
Kathy Cerminara
Kathy Cerminara grew up on Blaine Hill and is a member of the Class of 1979. She distinguished herself as a scholar in the law field, earning post- graduate masters and doctorate degrees. As a law professor, she is recognized nationally as an expert in medical law in the areas of bioethics, elder law, health law, patients rights and the right to die. Cerminara lives in Miramar, Fla., with her life partner, Kevin Donovan. They enjoy traveling and sharing pictures of their three grandchildren: Lily, Henry and Theo.
