Sarah Shipley is listed as the guardian for Renesmay Eutsey.

Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele announced Friday night that charges have been filed against the guardian of 9-yearold Renesmay Eutsey in connection with her death.

Aubele issued a statement on Facebook saying that Sarah Ann Shipley, 35, of Dunbar is charged with conspiracy to commit criminal homicide, criminal homicide, aggravated assault, abuse of corpse and tamper with/fabricate physical evidence, endangering the welfare of children and conspiracy – endangering the welfare of children.

“Sarah Ann Shipley has been charged with numerous offenses, including Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Homicide, in connection to the death of Renesmay Eutsey,” Aubele wrote. “She is currently receiving treatment at a hospital; once released, she will be immediately transported to her arraignment.”

Shipley overdosed inside a home in Dunbar Township on Friday morning, according to WTAE.

Renesmay was reported missing Wednesday and was later found dead in the Youghiogheny River. Homicide charges were also filed against Kourtney Eutsey in connection with Renesmay’s death.

In a police complaint, one of the juveniles in the home told troopers she heard Eutsey and Shipley say “they were going to take Renesmay to a river ‘far, far away.”

Aubele said Eutsey was a live-in caretaker in a relationship with Shipley. Eutsey had adopted some of the other children in the household.

Eutsey faces other charges, including criminal homicide, aggravated assault and concealing the death of a child. The investigation of Renesmay’s death is ongoing.
