Lois E Demko – Rostraver Township

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP Lois E Demko, 91, of Rostraver Township, died Tuesday Sept. 2, 2025, at Vida Springs Senior Living and Pers onal Care Home, Monong ahela. She was born on Oct. 9, 1933, in Rostraver Township, daughter of the late Joseph Eli and Elsie Olive Baird Lynn. Lois had a spitfire personality, enjoyed spending time with her family, going to Bill’s Golfland to eat, playing the lottery, especially when she won, a good cup of coffee, camping at Lake Erie and shopping trips with her niece, Patty. She loved watching the Pirates play, going to bingo, all her cats, baking and selling at Perryopolis Flea Market, where she was known as the Knife Lady. Lois worked at Randall’s as a prep cook and retired from Rostraver Middle School, where she was a baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Demko; two sons, Richard and David Demko; a brother, James W. Lynn; and two sisters, Sylvia Hare and Esther Sherbondy. She was also predeceased by a daughter- in-law, Rose Demko; and her longtime companion, Dave Porucznik. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Balog of Rostraver Township; grandchildren, Joseph Demko, Michael (René) Balog and Lee (Heather) Demko Jr.; twin sister, Leann (Kara) Fisher and Hope Demko; great-grandchildren, Christopher Naber, Quentin Demko, Elijah Salgado, Izaac Salgado and Paisley Nutt; a sister, Sue Ann Conway (Bud) of Turkeytown; and nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at L. L. BARTHELS FUNERAL HOME INC. Second St., Smithton. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Sandy Fitzgibbons officiating Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Rostraver Township.
