Doris M. Skocik – Rostraver Township

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP Doris M. Skocik, 84, of Rostraver Township, passed away on Aug. 30, 2025. Born i n Union town on May 24, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret Brenzy Kuharik. Doris was a sales clerk and baker at the former Peasant Village Restaurant and Bakery. She was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the Rostraver Women’s Club, the Jednota First Catholic Slovak Union and she and her husband, Raymond, were original members of the Center for Fitness and Health in Rostraver. Doris loved music and enjoyed walking, crocheting, baking and making ceramics. She also enjoyed traveling, especially traveling by train. Doris is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Raymond E. Skocik; her children, Jeffrey (Kristen) Skocik, Debra Ann Alberta and Donna Marie Zilka; grandchildren, Erika (Kirby III) Manown, Shelby Alberta and Xander Zilka; and her sister, Betty (Robert) Orlosky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, in the Church of St. Anne, 1870 Rostraver Road, Rostraver, with the Rev. Joel Sayson presiding.
