A new community pharmacy is coming to the Mon Valley.

Penn Highlands Healthcare announced Wednesday plans to open its first community pharmacy in its Southwest Region. Penn Highlands Community Pharmacy – Mon Valley will be located on the campus of Penn Highlands Mon Valley on the ground floor of the Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center in Carroll Township.

The pharmacy will be open to the public as well as to Penn Highlands Healthcare employees. Its location on the hospital campus enables patients to have their prescriptions filled after receiving care.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer our patients, employees and members of the community with a retail pharmacy,” said Josh LaFleur, regional market president — Southwest Region for Penn Highlands Healthcare. “The pharmacy will provide easy access not only to prescriptions but to our knowledgeable pharmacists.”

Penn Highlands Community Pharmacy — Mon Valley will offer the services people enjoy at the health system’s other retail pharmacies including: • Auto refill program.

• Prescription text alerts.

• Pharmacists available for consultations and medication reviews.

The pharmacy will open this fall. A date has not been announced.
