Elizabeth Joan Tedrow

Elizabeth Joan Tedrow, 94, daughter of the late Carl Edgar and Louise Striker Zimmerman, passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband, George Clifford Tedrow, after 49 years of marriage; and her son, George Clifford Tedrow Jr. Joan led a full life. She married at 17, after graduation from Monessen High School. She worked part time at the Monessen/Donora/ Charleroi Credit Bureau for three years, went to night school to become an income tax preparer and worked for Mellon Bank for 15 years. Always wanting to have a big family, she had five children. Surviving are four children, Candace, John (Barbara), William (Jackie) and Chris; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Joan enjoyed having lunch at Center in the Woods, listening to the Jam Session and socializing with her friends there. She was a warm, generous and caring person, and will be missed by many, including her partner of 20 years, Sam. Special thanks to Amedisys and Concordia Hospice for their part in taking wonderful care of her.
