NBV ramp closures set for I-70 project
Nightly ramp closures will start Monday in North Belle Vernon.
PennDOT District 12 said the closures are scheduled for Interstate 70 westbound at Exit 42 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night through Thursday.
The closure will allow Golden Triangle Construction Company to conduct concrete pavement patching, drainage repair and barrier replacement as part of a larger pavement preservation project on I-70 from the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway to Route 906 (Belle Vernon Monessen Road/Main Street).
With an infrastructure investment of $9.69 million, work is expected to continue through late fall, pending weather and operational conditions.
Detours will be in place during the closure:
• Westbound on-ramp — enter I-70 eastbound at Exit 42, continue to Exit 43 (Donora/Fayette City), take Route 201 north toward Donora, and re-enter I-70 westbound via the ramp just after crossing the Route 201 bridge over I-70.
• Westbound off-ramp — continue past Exit 42 and take Exit 41 (Route 906 Belle Vernon/Monessen). At the end of the ramp, take a left, followed by an immediate left to get on I-70 eastbound and use Exit 42 to access North Belle Vernon.
