Thomas L. Horan – Rostraver Township

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP Thomas L. Horan, 98, of Rostraver Township, died Saturday, July 12, 2025. Born in Span gler, Pa., on June 7, 1927, he was the son of the late William and Zeta Baldwin Horan. Tom was retired from Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel, where he was a millwright in the Blooming Mill for 42 years. He was a graduate of Monessen High School and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Chipola (AO 63). He was a life member of the Belle Vernon American Legion, past president of the Rostraver Midget Football League and was a manager for Fellsburg Little League Baseball. He was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver, was a Pittsburgh Steelers season ticket holder for over 40 years and was an avid Notre Dame fan. He is survived by his wife of 77 years, Elsie (Lewis) Horan; sons, Thomas (Lois) Horan of Greensburg and Patrick Horan of Fla.; daughter, Linda Shrum of Bethel Park; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and sisters, Sara Hrycko of Charleroi and Kathleen Uchrinscko of West Newton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Dolfi; son-in-law, Thomas Dolfi; and siblings, Dolores (Dolly) Gallagher, Joan Deneen, Leroy Horan, Lucille Badock, David Horan, Verne Horan, William Horan and Colleen Luko. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome. com, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Anne with the Rev. Joel Sayson presiding. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery Mausoleum.
