Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Kronemer – formerly of Charleroi

Dorothy “Dottie” Kronemer, 64, formerly of Charleroi, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 30, after a brief battle with c anc e r. In her final days, Dottie reflected fondly on her many friends from Charleroi and fun times at Charleroi High School. Dottie was born on June 23, 1961, in Charleroi. Dottie enjoyed a remarkable 36-year career as a contract negotiator with IBM, traveling to more than 50 countries and living in cities such as Paris, Vienna, Tokyo, and Johannesburg. She was the IBM senior international contract negotiator, securing billions of dollars in computing contracts, contributing to the creation of thousands of jobs worldwide. After IBM, she became a benefit auctioneer specialist, raising millions of dollars for charity. Dottie is survived by her uncle and aunt, Ronald and Patti Turnbull; her brother, Alex Kronemer and his wife, Luby Ismail; her nephews, Sharif and Zakaria Kronemer; and her niece, Laila Kronemer. She is also survived by her long-time companion, Tom Crawford; and her beloved cat, Madeline Ann. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Kronemer of Charleroi, whom she lovingly cared for during her mother’s final years. She will be laid to rest at Monongahela Cemetery in Monongahela, at noon Saturday, July 12 , 2025, with a brief service at the cemetery chapel. A celebration of her life will be held later in Charleston, S.C., where she resided. In lieu of flowers.
