Health insurers and the ultimate irony
Do you remember the song “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette? Well isn’t it ironic that companies that sell food with addictive chemicals, toxins and carcinogens donate money to cancer foundations and “research?” Isn’t it ironic that some of these same companies that have copious amounts of added sugars to their foods fund diabetes research and want to end diabetes? Isn’t it ironic that we see slogans about children’s physical, mental and emotional health all over schools, yet kids are consuming eight times the amount of fructose one’s liver can metabolize without toxicity in just breakfast alone from the national school breakfast?
