Monstrous creations at South Allegheny

High school senior Makayah Bova poses with 3-year-old Natalya Lockhart during Thursday morning’s “Monsters to Life” event at South Allegheny Elementary School. Natalya holds the hand-sewn stuffed animal “Elsa,” created by Makayah based on Natalya’s original drawing, which Makayah displays. The project paired high school students with pre-K students to transform their imaginative monster drawings into personalized stuffed animals. Jeff Helsel / Mon Valley Independent
