Bears, Hounds split season-ending DH

Despite not being near qualifying for the WPIAL playoffs, the Clairton and Monessen baseball teams had pride to play for in their season-finale doubleheader at Memorial Stadium Thursday.

On the last day of the regular season, both teams finished right where they started – tied for the final spot in Section 3-1A.

The Bears (1-12, 1-9) and the Greyhounds (2-15, 1-9) split the twinbill with Clairton winning Game 1, 9-7, and the Hounds winning the nightcap, 8-7.
