No tax hike in budget proposal

The budget will be posted online after the school board votes on it next week.

Taxes hold steady in the Monessen City School District’s 2025-26 budget, which was introduced at Tuesday’s meeting.

The proposed budget has $19,943,790 in expenditures, with revenue currently set as unknown. Business Manager Jeff Festor predicted revenue to be around $18 million, but said there’s currently too much uncertainty with state funding.
