Devigne announces candidacy for Charleroi Borough Council seat
Longtime resident and passionate community advocate Deborah M. Devigne has officially announced her candidacy for Charleroi Borough Council.
With deep roots in the community and a long-standing commitment to service, Devigne, a Republican, is stepping forward to bring fresh energy, transparency, and collaborative leadership to local government, she stated in her campaign announcement.
“I’m running because I care deeply about our town,” said Devigne. “Charleroi has given so much to me and my family, and I believe it’s time to give back in an even bigger way.”
Devigne’s professional background spans customer service and child care, with roles at Walmart in Belle Ve r n o n , Eat’n Park Hospitality Group, and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services (SPHS) center in Monessen. Her work reflects a lifelong dedication to helping others— values she intends to bring to the council, she stated.
Her extensive volunteer work includes organizing safety initiatives with the Charleroi Neighborhood Watch, supporting literacy at the Charleroi children’s library, and serving youth as a den leader with Cub Scout Pack 1419. She has also served as president and secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 302 in Monongahela, and worked with children with disabilities through the Spina Bifida program at the Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh.
A former stay-at-home mom and advocate for family values, Devigne understands the challenges faced by working families and seniors alike. Her campaign will focus on public safety, youth engagement, small business development, and government transparency, she stated.
“We need leaders who will listen, learn, and lead with heart,” said Devigne. “I’m ready to be that voice for Charleroi.”
