Bridge closure disrupts traffic in Elizabeth Borough

Officials and residents say they got little advance notice that the bridge would be shut down.

Elizabeth officials discussed the closure of a bridge that connects the borough with Forward Township at Tuesday’s council meeting.

In a press release last week, PennDOT said the Center Avenue bridge between Nevins Lane and Walker Road is closed to traffic “around-the-clock through late August due to a failing utility line causing unstable structural conditions.”
