Police still searching for answers in murder case

Little information has been released since Jennah Seibert was killed in her Rostraver Township home.

A week has passed since Jennah Marie Seibert was found dead in the Rostraver home she shared with her fiancé, but authorities have not publicly revealed any new details surrounding her killing.

The 24-year-old died from a gunshot wound April 11 in what the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office is investigating as a homicide.

Photos and surveillance video of an unidentified man were released Monday. The man, wearing long-sleeved dark clothing, hat and covering around his neck, is shown at an unnamed convenience store in Monongahela. Seibert’s 2024 Lexus GX550 SUV was found nearby, police said.

“No other details are being released,” Melanie Jones, spokeswoman for the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, wrote in an email Friday.

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the homicide.

Earlier in the week, Jones said investigators were seeking additional photographs and videos from residential and business surveillance cameras in the Rostraver, Monongahela and Donora areas taken between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on April 11 that may show the man or Seibert’s vehicle.

Police were called shortly after noon April 11 to the 400 block of Lenity School Road home that Seibert shared with Bryan J. Murray.

Murray, 41, was listed as the owner of the home, according to Westmoreland County property tax records.

The couple planned to marry Oct. 18.

Murray called police after he found Seibert in a bed at about noon April 11.

“She’s dead. Oh my God. You need to get these people who killed her. They stole her car,” Murray told Rostraver police, they said.

Authorities have said Seibert was fatally shot. Murray told police her throat was cut, according to a search warrant, which said the victim was found by police “with a large amount of blood around her neck and face, with what appeared to be trauma to the neck area.”

On Friday, Jones verified the DA’s office believes Seibert died of a gunshot wound, despite the stabbing claim.

Family and friends of Seibert have made social media posts but haven’t talked publicly about Seibert or her death. She was buried Thursday at Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth after an hourlong funeral at Christian Center Church in Rostraver.

Video of her funeral was shared publicly on the church’s Facebook page. Pastor Tim Burgan said he was honoring the families’ wishes and not speaking to the media.

He read the obituary the family published with succinct biographical information: birthday: Aug. 21, 2000; parents, James O. and Suzanne (Lueckert) Seibert; sister, Hannah Seibert; niece Lena was described as her bestie; and a family-to-be that included Dominic, Giovanni and Gabriela Murray — her fiancé’s children.

She worked in human relations, since February as director of talent acquisition at The Cotter Group, in South Fayette.

Those details “are only a snapshot of a life well-lived,” Burgan told the mourners, which included former co-workers at the coffee shop where she met Murray, who was a customer. Even her hairdresser came to the funeral and spoke through tears in tribute to Seibert.

“We carry the tragedy and the loss, but she now lives in victory,” Burgan said. “We still live in a broken and evil world.

“In a very real way we have to understand that dealing with evil in an evil way doesn’t work, and we have to overcome evil with good,” Burgan said. “Only God can help us to do that.”

Murray asked for prayers for light and justice for Jennah and her family.

“Her and I were excited for our future,” Murray said.

She was the “brightest, smartest, most beautiful person in any room she was in,” Murray said.

She also led him to become a Christian and attend church, he said.

Together, they were greeters and helped in the church’s cafe. It was tough to drink the coffee she served because it’s hard to drink through a smile, Burgan said.

“A piece of my heart and my soul has been taken away,” Hannah Seibert said. “Her soul was so innocent and sweet. Jennah gave me balance and perspective.

“I keep asking myself how to I continue on without my sister. Who do I call when I need my person? I love my sister.”

Anyone with information about Jennah Seibert’s death can call the Westmoreland County detective bureau at 724-830-3287 or Rostraver police at 724-929-4111.
