Monessen chief wants police to become part of county SWAT team

Monessen police Chief Dave Yuhasz is asking city officials to join the Westmoreland County SWAT team to give his officers more opportunities to gain new skills and improve response time on emergencies.

Lower Burrell Detective Sgt. Zachary Beam, commander of the Westmoreland County SWAT team, broke down the benefits of joining the unit to Monessen council Thursday.
