Licht announces bid for EF school board seat

For the MVI

Chad J. Licht, a 2024 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, recently announced he is seeking a seat on the Elizabeth Forward School Board.

A student at the Community College of Allegheny County studying social (political) sciences, he is a current volunteer staff member of the Elizabeth Forward High School musical. He will turn 19 on April 24.

During his time at Elizabeth Forward High School, he served as the Class of 2024 president.

Licht stated he takes pride in his work and the level of transparency he maintained with the students, parents, and community members, keeping them updated on happenings in the school.

He said his campaign “focuses on ensuring that the school continues to build a safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment.”

He plans to work with the other board members to focus on “transparency, academics, student and teacher support, community engagement, and responsibility.”

He believes it is most important to keep the community informed about what is happening in our schools by continuing to live stream board meetings. Additionally, he wants to set up a system to record, save, and publish the meetings so the public can view them.

He feels that the more the community trusts the board, the more effective they can work for the betterment of the schools. He feels that through the construction process it is extremely important to keep the community informed on what is happening in the schools, according to his campaign announcement.

He believes that this campaign is “far more than securing a seat on the board; it is about bringing ideas to the community for a continued, better future in the Elizabeth Forward School District.”
