“Fierce and beautiful” theme of new dugout artwork in Washington Township

The latest project by Rostraver Townshipbased artist Chris Galiyas was creating murals for dugout No. 2 at the Washington Township Ballfields, part of the Belle Vernon Area School District. The theme for the artwork was “fierce and beautiful.” Galiyas has been painting houses and creating murals around the Mon Valley and Pittsburgh area since the mid 1990s. He’s been an art teacher for 19 years at Clara Barton Elementary School in the West Mifflin Area School District.
