PAGES OF THE PAST

1995

• When Wes Bash ran back into his Penn Vista Road home, which was already in flames, he wasn’t looking for his shoes. Instead he was trying to save his beloved dog. Bash and his pet were apparently the only things spared in the 6:10 a.m. fire that gutted his home. Elizabeth Police Officer Dave Barnett, who was first on the scene said, “I literally had to tackle him to keep him from going back in. He didn’t even have his shoes on. He got out with just the clothes on his back. He literally lost everything. He’s beside himself.”
