Richard W. Zuraw Sr. – North Belle Vernon

NORTH BELLE VERNON Richard W. Zuraw Sr., 89, of North Belle Vernon, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, at Haven Crest Nursing Home, Carroll Town ship. Born June 25, 1935, in North Charleroi, he was the son of the late George Zuraw Sr. and Louise Yadrick Zuraw. A resident of North Belle Vernon for the past 67 years, Mr. Zuraw was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon and was retired from the former Thorofare Grocery Market in Uniontown and Charleroi, where he worked as a grocery store manager. He served in the U.S. Army and was a former member of the Belle Vernon Lions Club and Charleroi Elks. He enjoyed golfing in various golf leagues, traveling to Florida for the winter months, fishing and traveling to Florida and Las Vegas with his wife. He is survived by his two sons, Richard Zuraw Jr. and wife Lorraine of Las Vegas, and Glenn Zuraw of Las Vegas; two sisters-inlaw, Lois Zuraw of Englewood, Fla., and Laura Zuraw of Ashburn, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances J. Domonkos Zuraw, on April 8, 2007; and two brothers, George “Porky” Zuraw and Edward Zuraw.
