David H. Hamley – Rostraver Township

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP David H. Hamley, 84, of Rostraver Township, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Paul A. and Florence Williamson Hamley, he was born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 4, 1940. David was a member of Fells United Methodist Church, the Monessen Amateur Radio Club (his radio operator call sign was K3PRR) and the PA Trolley Museum since 1960, serving as president, vice president and trustee. David had a degree in engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (1965) and worked for almost 50 years as a design engineer at Bombardier Transportation with a specialty in train control/safety systems. He loved bicycling, cycling several thousand miles a year. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael A. and Carrie Hamley of Greensburg and Revs. Scott D. and Sharon Hamley of New Florence; and five grandchildren, Joshua, Araina, Andrew, Catalina and Carolina. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley I. Wright Hamley, on Jan. 28, 2022; and by his brother and sister-in-law, Donald W. and Irene Hamley. There will be no public funeral services.
