Maureen Ott is the new president, with Jason Briscoe as first vice president and Gail Glaneman as second VP.

The Ringgold school board reorganized its leadership during Wednesday’s meeting.

Maureen Ott was elected board president, Jason Briscoe was chosen as first vice president and Gail Glaneman was reelected as second vice president.

Ott earned the position in a 5-4 vote. Directors Steve Toprani, Paul Mountain, Heather Wilhelm Glaneman and Ott voted in favor of the motion, while Briscoe, Sherrie Garry, Carol Flament and Sarah Fine voted against it.

“I just want to thank the board for nominating me and for making me president,” Ott said. “And I think that the district’s been going in a positive direction, and I will tiy to help us continue that progress.”

Briscoe won first vice president in an 8-1 vote, with Ott casting the lone vote against him.

Glaneman retained second vice president in a 7-2 vote, with Toprani and Fine casting the dissenting votes.

In 2025, the board will once again meet on the third Wednesday of each month, excluding April and May.

The board also approved the following during Wednesday’s meeting:

• The retirements of bus driver Samuel Lytle and custodian John Rippel.

• The hiring of full time bus driver Denise Stuart.
