North Charleroi Borough Park to be renamed in honor of Pireaux

The former council president died in 2001.

North Charleroi council has decided to rename North Charleroi Borough Park in memory of a long-time dedicated community member and public servant.

Richard E. Pireaux Sr., 68, died Nov. 30, 2001. He was president of council at the time of his death.

Affectionately known as “Frenchy” to his family and friends, he left a mark on the community and was proud to be from Lock 4 and raise his family there.
