Monessen police chief asks for more officers

Police Chief Dave Yuhasz detailed the struggles his department is facing, including large call volumes and two open positions, before Monessen council.

Yuhasz told council that he wants to hire two officers during a work session meeting Thursday that lasted more than two hours.

The police department recently held testing for five interested applicants. Four people passed, but two have already accepted jobs elsewhere.
