Gary T. Alewine – Rostraver Township

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP Gary T. Alewine, 80, of Rostraver Township, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024. Born in Greenville, S.C., on Nov. 14, 1943, he was the son of the late Luther and Ida Mae Revis Alewine. Gary was a graduate of Greenville Technical College, as well as Pittsburgh School of Avionics and was a licensed pilot for a number of years. He had a zest for life that we are all going to miss! Gary was a business owner of two restaurants and commercial properties in Pittsburgh. He was an excellent businessman and was kind and helpful to everyone. He was a jokester and loved a good party! He enjoyed boating and fishing and going out to eat, especially to new restaurants. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He is survived by his daughter, Maria (Chad) Hensley of Rostraver; grandchildren, Ashley and Jared Morrison, Amber and Jayson; and great-grandchildren, Oliver and Nova. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Lois Ann Trembach Alewine. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome. com, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment, with military honors, will follow in St. Timothy Cemetery, Smithton.
