Gerald M. LaFrankie – Elizabeth Township, formerly of Elizabeth Borough

ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP, FORMERLY OF ELIZABETH BOROUGH Gerald M. LaFrankie, 81, of Elizabeth Township, formerly of Elizabeth Borough, passed away on Thurs day, Oct. 10, 2024, at home sur rounded by his loved ones. He was a former coal miner and retired as an Allegheny County park manager at Round Hill Park in Elizabeth Township. He was a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish and former mayor of Elizabeth Borough. He was a past president of Woman’s Place in McKeesport, former vice chairman of West-to-West Coalition and former vice president of the Pittsburgh District of First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. Born May 22, 1943, in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late James J. and Virginia (Ackerman) LaFrankie. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Monica (Geletko) La-Frankie; daughters, Beth (David Lau) Konick of Rostraver Township, Amy (Jason) Thomas of Elizabeth and Heather Stover of Elizabeth Township; grandchildren, Camden, Emma, Blake and Mason Stover, and Grace and Jack Konick; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Paulianna Martis, Theodora Terdine and Virginia Handley; and brother, James LaFrankie.
