Charles John Halahan – West Newton

Charles John Halahan, 83, of West Newton, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024. Born McKeesport on June 20, 1941, he was the son of the late John and Anne Kiselich Halahan. Charles was a coal miner, had worked in construction and retired as a security guard. He coached midget football in Yukon, was a baseball coach in Wyano, and was a baseball umpire for Little League and up to Legion baseball. He was a member of the Sutersville Moose and the West Newton VFW. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Richard) Nolan; grandson, Zachary Nolan (Sylvia Garner); dear niece, Danielle Yerkey; and great-niece, Marley Yerkey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Eric Charles Halahan; sister, Kathryn J. Schock; and Janet L. Halahan. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www. jamesstumpfuneralhome. com, where a blessing service will be held at 4 p.m. in the funeral home.
