Beware the bite of the copperhead
Last fall I took a stroll along the Yough River Trail to Deadman’s Hollow. On my way back to my car at the Boston trail access in Elizabeth Township, out of the corner of my eye, I caught a movement in the grass between the trail and the riverbank. I stopped and took a closer look and saw a tiny copperhead snake. Though the little serpent was only about 6 or 7 inches long, when I bent down to take his picture with my phone, he lifted his head and bared his tiny fangs at me.
