Roy Dennis Opfar – Lincoln Borough

LINCOLN BOROUGH Roy Dennis Opfar, 70, of Lincoln Borough, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024, at Jefferson Hospital. A member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, he retired as a medical records representative for UPMC in Pittsburgh, and was a bus monitor in the Elizabeth Forward School District for special needs students, for whom he had a great deal of love. Born May 3, 1954, in McKeesport, he was a son of Wilma Salzer Opfar of Lincoln Borough, and the late Theodore Opfar. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Theodore (Sharon) Opfar of Versailles, John (Kim) Opfar of Jefferson Hills, Tracy Opfar of Elizabeth, Billie Jo Kurta of Clairton, Karen (Chris) Davis of Canonsburg, and Kevin (Lisa) Opfar of Lincoln; also, nieces and nephews. No visitation is planned. A memorial service will take place at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 735 Bunola River Road, Elizabeth at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, with Pastor Jeff Riker officiating.
