Gloria June Boniella Gerda – Rostraver Township

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP Gloria June Boniella Gerda, 86, of Rostraver Township passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, after a brief illness, under the compassionate care of Suncrest Hospice. Born in Star Junction on June 19, 1938, she was the daughter of the late George Boniella and Christine (Aquilina) Boniella Benich. Gloria loved her hobbies of decorating pysanky eggs, sewing, crocheting and multiple crafts. All of her children are fortunate to have received treasured handmade quilts and pysanky designed eggs. Gloria was also gifted with the talent of drawing and quilting. Gloria was an excellent baker — her cookies never lasted long! She loved music, playing the piano, enjoyed watching Western movies and listening to country music with her husband, Tom. Gloria was a devoted wife of 68 years to her late husband, Thomas Lawrence Gerda, the love of her life, who preceded her in death on July 11, 2024; and was also a loving mother of Thomas M. (Mary) Gerda, Rose M. (Frank) Chapman, Gloria J. Gerda, Brenda L. (Greg) Vaughn, Cynthia A. (Russell) Scott and David L. Gerda; eight grandchildren, Frank, Christopher, Jennifer, Daniel, Trevor, Nicole, Emily and Alison; nine great-grandchildren, Hunter, Finley, Oliver, Rosalee, Lucy, Colton, Olivia, Cade and Bennett; and a brother, Ron (Margarita) Boniella.
