The money will cover facility fees and other costs for the youths.

The Rostraver Township Board of Commissioners voted Monday to make a donation to the Belle Vernon Youth Wrestling team.

The donation will be $8,700 and will come from the Act 13 fund, according to commissioner Justin Kosanko.

“We used some money from the American Rescue fund to help them offset some unforeseen costs and facility fees,” Kosanko said.

The team will use the funding to cover operating costs for the upcoming year and practice facility fees.

According to Kosanko, the recreation commission discussed the donation beforehand and hoped commissioners would approve the funds for the team.

Also Monday, commissioners approved the transfer of a liquor license for Kathy Heinz, the new owner of Dawg’s Sports Bar and Grill in Belle Vernon.

The liquor license is being transferred to Rostraver Township from Cook Township.

Commissioners also:

• Approved a new upgrade from the current Freedom Systems Financial software to the Works Finance Hub at a cost of $10,446 annually.

• Approved returning Eagleway Communications’ road bond in the amount of $2,500 for Skyline Drive.

• Approved reducing RWS Land Company Inc.’s stormwater bond from $147,239 to $4,510 and a development bond from $221,657 to $25,960 for Cedar Creek phase 4.

• Approved a memorandum of understanding to update AFSCME collective bargaining agreement with the township’s road department employees.

• Awarded the Willowbrook Road Storm Sewer Project contract to Protocol LLC of Harrison City, which submitted a $322,440 bid.
