SNIPS AND SNEAKERS

Hairstylist Lorenzo Altobelli, owner of LA Fades in Belle Vernon, gives a trim to Kash Ward, 6, of Monessen at the Snips and Sneakers event Monday morning at The Full Potential Project building in Monessen. All kids ages 12 and under received a free haircut and Nike brand athletic shoes. They also were eligible to receive gift cards from Walmart, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Amazon. Hairstylist Kory Olesky of Smartstyle Salon in the Rostraver Township Walmart volunteered to cut girls’ hair at the event. The Full Potential Project plans to host another Snips and Sneakers event in July for kids ages 13-17. To purchase this photo and more from our online photo gallery, go to our website at www.monvalleyindependent.com. Jeff Helsel / Mon Valley Independent
