Yvonne J. Urban – Perryopolis

Yvonne J. Urban, 95, of Perryopolis, died Thursday, June 20, 2024. Born in Munhall on Dec. 13, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Harris McKibben. Treasured by all who knew her, Yvonne was a dedicated, loving wife, mother and friend. She worked as a teller at Mellon Bank before raising her family of seven. Yvonne was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Perryopolis and previously of St. Anne’s Church in Rostraver, expressing her love of music by cantoring and singing in the choir. Yvonne served as the president of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and taught CCD as well as tutoring adult learners through the literacy program at Rostraver Public Library. She was naturally artistic and delighted many with her decorative baking. She excelled in a bowling league and had a loving heart for all animals. Yvonne is survived by her children, Rebecca Aylsworth of Morgantown, W.Va., Emily (Ken) Myklebust of Apollo, Ken (Louise) Urban of Rostraver, Molly (William) Quigley of New Castle, Chris (Margaret) Urban of Centre Hall and Jennifer (Kurt) Peternel of Monongahela; sonin- law, Jeffrey Ward of Delaware, Ohio; grandchildren, Kelly, Alexander, Madalyn, Sarah, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Laura, William, Alan, Elijah and Magdalena; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Urban M.D.; and daughter, Cynthia Ward. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass for Yvonne, which will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at St. John The Baptist Church, 3332 Pittsburgh Road, Perryopolis, with the Rev. Rodolfo P. Mejia officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to JAMES C.
