William F. Dovalovsky Jr. – Monongahela

William F. Dovalovsky Jr., 74, of Monongahela, died Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Jefferson Hospital. He was born Nov. 1, 1949, in McKeesport, son of William F. and Marie Wingard Dovalovsky Sr. Bill was retired after 11 years of employment at Hussy Copper in Leetsdale. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela. He was a member of the YMCA in Carroll Township and a former member of the Elrama Volunteer Fire Department. In his younger years, Bill enjoyed bowling and more recently reading. Bill loved God, his family, and his friends. He was a kind and caring person with a good heart, and he was generous beyond his means! Bill had hurdles to overcome throughout his life, but he was never one to say, “Woe is me!” Instead, he did well with the life God gave him. When you called Bill on the phone, you were always greeted with his signature, “Hel-low-ow!” and his calls would always end with a “God bless.” God gave Bill more than 74 years of a life well lived on this Earth. We are blessed to have known him. And we can only imagine what a glorious day it was for him to arrive in heaven and be reunited with his mother and dad, his brother, Bob, his grandparents and others who loved him dearly, and then to live forever in the presence of the God he loved. He is survived by his cousins, John (Linda) Dovalovsky of Lombard, Ill., Eve (Russ) Johnson of Upper St. Clair, Paul McKernan of Jefferson Hills, and Marilyn (William) Wenger of Crescent; special friend, Paul Shaffer of Finleyville; and other friends and relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Dovalovsky; and cousins, Richard Dovalovsky and Janet McKernan. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. Additional visitations will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Monongahela, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Monongahela. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Andrew the Apostle Food Bank, 722 W. Main St., Monongahela, PA 15063 or St. Vincent de Paul Society, 1701 Grand Blvd., Monessen, PA 15062.
