David D. Stein
MONESSEN

David D. Stein, 70, of Monessen, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on Feb. 15, 1954, in North Charleroi, the son of the late Raymond and Sarah (Lovus) Stein. He was Catholic by faith and a 1973 graduate of Monessen High School. He worked for 84 Mining and then retired from Consol Energy, where he worked as a coal miner for more than 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Tina (Gagatko) Stein; son, David (Kasey) Stein; daughter, Alicia (Andy) Galis, who took him in and cared for him for the final few weeks; grandchildren, Brielle, Vivian, AJ, Ben and Lily; and numerous nieces and nephews. His family would like to thank a very special niece who helped to take care of Dave, Katie Fonner and brother-in-law, Fudgie Gagatko. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Raymond and James Stein. Private arrangements have been entrusted to the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC.
