Arthur Franklin Hruby Sr.

MONONGAHELA

Arthur Franklin Hruby Sr., 88, of Monongahela, died Sunday, May 26, 2024, in Beechw ood Courts, Uniontown. He was born Feb. 1, 1936, in Nottingh a m To w n ship, the son of Paul and Johanna Bazuch Hruby. Arthur was a member and deacon of the First Christian Church in Monongahela. He retired from the Boilermakers Union Local 154 of Pittsburgh with more than 30 years of employment. He enjoyed snowmobile riding, hunting and riding his motorcycle. He cherished his pickup truck and spending time in the mountains at his cabin. He is survived by his wife, Donna Schwenk Hruby, with whom he celebrated 69 years of marriage on Jan. 21, 2024; son, Arthur F. Hruby Jr. of Uniontown; daughter, Robin Renee Hruby of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Arta Faye (J. Scott) Helms and A. Scott (Natalie) Hruby; five great-grandsons, Lucas, Logan, Lincoln and Leo Helms and Kenson Hruby; brother, Raymond (Georgie) Hruby of Courtney; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Kenann Hruby; nine brothers, William, Robert, Paul, Edward, David, John, Sylvester, Alfred and Emil Hruby; and four sisters, Margaret Benczo, Velma Galiffa, Florence Huntoon and Mary Patik. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024, in the FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Janet Scott-Mace officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 630 Chess St., Monongahela, PA 15063.
