Two more arrested in local teen’s death

By TAYLOR BROWN, Senior Reporter

Homicide charges have been filed against a juvenile in connection with the death of an 18-year-old Monongahela resident.

Annalaya Wilkerson was fatally shot April 13 in the 500 block of Jolly School Road in South Franklin Township. A 17-year-old was also wounded in the shooting.

Windale “Winnie” Barfield Jr., 19, and Karon Whitlock, 20, turned themselves in to police April 28 on charges that include aggravated assault and homicide.

On Wednesday, state police also charged Anthony Kristopher Barfield, 17, with criminal homicide, two counts of conspiracy – criminal homicide and a single count of conspiracy – aggravated assault in relation to the case.

In addition, Jeheili Cochran, 25, is charged with hindering apprehension, obstructing the administration of law and tampering with evidence.

Police allege that Cochran disposed of the murder weapon and took Windale Barfield to New York after an arrest warrant was issued.

Neither Anthony Barfield or Cochran are in police custody.

Windale Barfield and Whitlock were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Saieva Jr., who denied bail last month.

Whitlock is charged with criminal homicide, criminal attempt homicide, conspiracy, aggravated assault and prohibited possession of a firearm.

Windale Barfield is charged with criminal homicide, criminal attempt – criminal homicide, conspiracy and aggravated assault.

They both remain in Washington County Jail and face preliminary hearings set for 10 a.m. Wednesday before Judge John Paul Bruner.
