The Authority of the Borough of Charleroi
The Authority of the Borough of Charleroi works diligently to keep service rates among the lowest in the surrounding areas and all of western Pennsylvania, while continuing to meet federally mandated regulations that will require more costly treatment to continue to provide water that meets rigorous requirements. The current treatment method of membrane filtration insures a very high quality of water under all conditions that will meet or exceed current water quality regulations and expected additions well into the future. The Authority recently refurbished the second and third sets of membrane filters as part of a ten-year capital plan for replacement and refurbishment of the membrane filter technology. This will allow the Authority to continue to produce water of the highest quality well into the future.
