Cooking at home: Beat the rising cost of eating out

Eating out is more expensive than ever, with a 4.2% increase in the consumer price index for food away from home. Food costs across the board continue to rise, even as inflation slows. However, Vericast’s 2024 Restaurant TrendWatch reports restaurant prices climb much higher and faster than groceries — an average of 5.1% annually versus 1.2%.
