The Mon Valley Independent is entering an exciting new era in digital publishing with the unveiling Wednesday of our redesigned website, our recently launched new and improved e-edition, and soon, mobile apps.

The new offerings are being launched with the third-party platform provider Tecnavia, which processes and manages more than 1,700 digital newspaper and magazine products daily.

Readers can see these upgrades at monvalleyindependent. com.

Our redesigned website includes enhanced categories for news and sports, world news, obituaries, features, entertainment and more. We also offer, free of charge, access to classified public notices that run in the daily print edition.

Our e-edition changes provide enhancements ranging from improved readability to an improved subscription platform, including: enhanced display, readability and functionality, with multiple views and reading formats, along with an e-edition archive of daily publications and special sections as well as new and improved accessibility features, including larger font sizes.

“We’re thrilled to be able to work with our partners at Tecnavia to bring these improvements to readers of The Mon Valley Independent,” said MVI Managing Editor Stacy Wolford. “Improved digital offerings will help ensure that newspapers like ours will continue to serve our communities for many decades to come, in print and online.”

In the near future, readers will be able to begin downloading the new Mon Valley Independent app on the Apple Store and Google Play.

Stay tuned for more details as we prepare to launch the apps.

One thing that won’t change is that subscribers will still get their print edition delivered to them Tuesdays through Saturdays, and of course, our full Monday electronic-only edition will still be available.

Those who choose to pick up a copy of the Mon Valley Independent at local stores and businesses will still have that option as well.

Please call us at 724314-0030 if you have any questions. We look forward to being your local news source for many years to come!
