Monessen school board reviews preliminary budget

The Monessen School Board has greenlit a preliminary budget, leaving the question of a potential real estate tax increase unanswered.

The draft budget for the 2024-2025 school year contains expenditures of $18,802,626. There’s no explicit mention of tax increases, which reflectively amounted to a 1.25 mil tax hike last year. 

President Doreen Smith noted that a budget presentation will take place at the June 4 board meeting, with final decisions to be made June 30.
