Lori F. (Florence Lario) Petrovich – Hopewell Township

Lori F. (Florence Lario) Petrovich, 85, of Hopewell Township, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Good Samaritan Hospice of Beaver, Pa.  She was born in Donora and baptized in St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church of Donora. She graduated from Donora High School, Duff’s Business Institute, Beaver County Community College and Penn State Paralegal School. Her career focus was legal secretary and she worked at the Capitol and the NRA in Washington, D.C. She was a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Center Township. She had a passion for ballroom dancing and was an award-winning competitor and instructor at Fred Astaire, Arthur Murray and Continental Dance Studios in Washington, D.C., New York City and Pittsburgh. She was a former member and was married at St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church. She attended Orthodox Churches, Aliquippa Baptist Temple, and Salvation Army and worked at Shiflet Enterprises, Hospital Baby Picture Service for 20 years.  She retired from Beaver County Courthouse, Juvenile Services/Allencrest after 27 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Maxim and Ann Lario; and her son, Lewis J. Petrovich Jr. She is survived by her son, Jon Mark (Lisa) Petrovich; her daughter, Lisa (Charles) Petrovich; granddaughters and grandson, Erica, Elizabeth and Charlie; her special loving brother, Andrew Maxim Lario; her loving niece, Veronica (Max) Lario; special family friend, Jane (Norm) Fennych; special family friend, Karen Mignella; and special friends of the Jane Delanko family. Lori’s family is especially grateful to the staff at Dr. Tatum’s, Sewickley Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospice at the Beaver Medical Center for the care and dignity they provided. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, aunt and grandmother who started with humble beginnings, worked hard and sacrificed her whole life for her loving family. She especially loved family gatherings and dinners. She will be tremendously missed. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 2205 McMinn St., Aliquippa, PA 15001. A Russian Orthodox Parastas Service with the Very Rev. Father William Evansky will take place at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Belle Vernon Cemetery Chapel, 176 Tranquility Lane, Belle Vernon, PA 15012.
