Gloria Jean Piktel, 74, of Donora, died Saturday, May 4, 2024, at her home. She was born June 9, 1949, in Charle- roi, daughter of the late Louis Hixson and the late Georgina Prentice Hixson. She was a member of First United Methodist Church Charleroi. Gloria worked at Corning for 30-plus years as well as being the store manager of the Corning Revere Factory Store. She was a member of Polish Falcons Nest 247 of Donora, the French Club of Charleroi, the Slavic Club in North Charleroi, the Ukrainian Club of Monessen and the Eagles in Monessen. In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Piktel Jr., on Nov. 25, 2002. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Joseph L. (Teri) Piktel of Williamsport, Pa., and Rachel L. Roberts (Kris Williams) of Donora; her companion of 18 years, David Whitehead; and grandchildren, Gabriel and Joseph (JJ) Piktel of Williamsport and Payton and Dominik Roberts of Monongahela. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2024. Interment will follow at Monongahela Cemetery.
