Mock prom disaster drill at Monessen High School

The Monessen High School Students Against Destructive Decisions Club hosted a prom disaster drunk-driving drill Wednesday afternoon in the high school parking lot. This was the first time since 2008, SADD has hosted a live drill, according to club advisor Tracy Odelli. Club members Emily Salaski, Alex Merritt, Josh Walters and Mariah Hughes participated as crash victims. Also participating were Monessen No. 1 and No. 2 (Hilltop) firefighters, city police, Mon Valley EMS staff and Westmoreland County Coroner Timothy Carson, who spoke about the consequences of drunk driving.
Monessen High School’s prom is Friday.
