Winning a section title has been a rare occurrence for the Belle Vernon Area baseball program in its 60-plus year history.

Adam LaCarte came through in the clutch with a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh that scored Cole Matusik, giving the Leopards a dramatic 6-5 victory over Latrobe Wednesday night at John DiVirgilio Sports Complex and its first section championship in over a decade.
