Thomas Gordon Riley Sr., 89, of North Charleroi, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2024, at home with his family by his side. Born in Charleroi on Aug. 4, 1934, Tom was the son of the late Thomas T. and Ruth Fox Riley. Tom’s dedication to maintaining the Charleroi Cougar Stadium (downtown) and his many years at Bell Telephone was unmatched. A loyal season ticket holder of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he was an avid sports fan who enjoyed every moment spent at games. He found joy in golfing with friends from Bell Telephone and cherished his time with family and friends. Surviving to cherish Tom’s memory are his wife of over 60 years, Shirley (Koons) Riley of North Charleroi; his two sons, Thomas (Carrie) Riley Jr. of Charleroi, and Gary (Kristin) Riley of Speers; and his six grandchildren, Gunnar (Madeline) Riley, Morgan Riley, Tanner Riley, Kaitlyn Riley Keaton Riley and Brady Riley. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Gary E. Riley. All services were private and arrangements have been entrusted to HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi PA 15022.
