‘Machine Gun Preacher’ attracts large crowd in visit to Glassport

About 200 people gathered Sunday morning at Glassport’s Honor Roll Park to hear evangelist Sam Childers. Also known as the “Machine Gun Preacher,” Childers was there as a guest of Glassport’s River City Church. A big, burly man sporting a gray Fu Manchu mustache and wearing a Harley-Davidson jersey, Childers is a passionate speaker who kept the large crowd spellbound as he told his life story.
