Dr. Martin Dudas died at home on April 24, 2024. He was the last of the six sons of Dr. Joseph and Mary Mayernik Dudas. He was born June 23, 1940, at the Charleroi Monessen Hospital. Marty was a graduate of Monessen High School, Class of 1958. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine (68), he loved practicing orthodontics in Monessen, Johnstown and Somerset. He was a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists and a past president of the Mid Mon Valley and Johnstown Dental Societies. He was proud to be a life member of the National Eagle Scout Association, Knights of Columbus No. 954, Elks Lodge No. 773, and to have served as a congressional page at the U.S. House of Representatives in 1957. He was the founder of the Monessen Parks Restoration Group, where he served as chairperson. He also served on Monessen City Council (2010-14) and was chairperson of fundraising for the Greater Monessen Historical Society. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dr. Joseph Jr., Dr. Thomas, John, Richard and Andre. Surviving are his wife, Madeline Dandrea Dudas; sisters-in-law, Virginia and Donna Dudas; stepdaughter, Dana (Col. Todd) Allison; brother-in-law, Joseph Dandrea; and his 12 wonderful nieces, nephews and dear cousins. He dedicated his life to giving people a beautiful smile, so share your smile with the world around you every day. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2024, at ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, beginning with a blessing service at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at Epiphany of Our Lord Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Private family Interment will take place in Holy Name Cemetery, Monessen. The Knights of Columbus will conduct services at 6 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Greater Monessen Historical Society, 505 Donner Ave., Monessen PA 15062.
